I hope this post finds you well. It's been a while since I've done much with music and this website. I would apologize, but I'm not sorry.

I've been making music and running this site with my spare time and money, which has become increasingly scarce.

I know I'm not the only one struggling to get by lately. I see what's happening, and most are getting crushed under the weight of a failing system.

It's getting increasingly difficult to afford the basics, let alone extras. Unfortunately, my music project is an extra that I'm having difficulty funding.

Music gets put on the back burner because I need to survive, and the music I create isn't helping me do that right now. Maybe someday, but how will it be if I have no time?

Sadly, I have no energy, inspiration, or desire even when I get time. It's all about survival right now.

I'm not complaining. It's just the way it is.

What I love Most

I've dreamt about doing music my entire life, and I'm sitting here at 47 years of age and still haven't given up. I'm not giving up, but I feel I'm failing.

I'm not afraid to fail. I would have never started if that were true.

I've heard it said that you only fail when you quit trying, and I'm in no way giving up. I will keep making music and writing songs until I die because I love to.

I'm not quitting, and more new music will emerge.

Writing songs and playing music brings me the most joy in this world. Still, I don't particularly like the marketing and business side of things.

I have knowledge and a background in Internet marketing. I also made this website myself and have experience with web development.

I use WordPress for the website and Siteground web hosting, and I love both. In case you were wondering.

I have a love-hate relationship with marketing and its infamous history.

What's that? You have yet to hear about Edward Bernays, nephew of Sigmund Freud, who brought psychology into marketing. Oh yeah, he also wrote a fun book called 'Propaganda'. What a great man!

Nothing like using your own mind against you to sell you shit you don't need. Kudos!

I learned some marketing techniques and ways to psychologically manipulate others into buying your goods or services. I find it disgusting.

The worst psychological marketing involves products or services that most people don't need. It's done for greed.

Those using these psychological marketing strategies know their product is junk. They want to make a quick buck and usually do.

Marketing may be necessary, but it doesn't have to be evil.

If I don't market, no one will know I exist, then how can they listen to the music?

You Reap What You Sow

I have stopped worrying about the money. I will market, but it will mostly be word-of-mouth grassroots-type stuff. I have a minimal marketing budget. Heck, it's non-existent.

I believe you reap what you sow; if I put good things out, good things will return.

That's why, starting soon, you can download and share my music for free. I'll soon have my music on, and you can choose how much you want to pay, including nothing, to purchase any song.

Why would I do that?

I want everyone who enjoys my music to have it, whether they have money or not. I also want you to download the best audio file version, not some highly compressed MP3.

I'm not worried about the money; I believe it will return to me.

While the music will be free to download if you'd like to support me, here are some ways you can do that:

  • Listen to my music on streaming services (Apple Music, Tidal, Spotify, YouTube) - I'm on all of them, and I receive royalties every time my music is played. It's usually fractions of a penny, but they add up over time. I also own all rights to my music, so I get all the royalties that record labels usually take.
  • Add my music to playlists on your favorite streaming service (Apple Music, Tidal, Spotify, YouTube) - This helps with the streaming service algorithms and puts my music in front of other people who may want to listen.
  • Share the music with others - Please share it with anyone you think may like it!
  • Purchase physical media (Records, CDs, Tapes) and merchandise (Clothing, Stickers, Posters) - I am working on this. Still, I hope to have merch and an album soon.

Staying Independent and Free

I would love to stay independent and not give anything away to a record label. I believe this is the way forward for artists.

I don't care whether I make money from music. I'm going to keep writing songs, no matter what.

How fast I can create music and release it will depend on how much time I can afford. I can't afford too much right now, but who knows what the future will bring?

If you've read this far, thank you for supporting me! I know what I do isn't for everyone, but for the ones it is for - you're awesome!

I'm truly thankful for everyone who listens to and supports the music. I cannot say this enough.

I wish you all the best and hope for nothing but great things and blessings in your life!
